Oregano - Origanum vulgare

Extensively used worldwide for ages; used by the Greeks to prepare poultices for wounds and sore muscles, in traditional Chinese medicine it has been used to relieve fevers, vomiting, diarrhea, hepatitis, and itchiness; throughout Europe it is used for conditions ranging from digestive system ailments to cough; and in the United States some physicians recommend the use of oregano to promote menstruation.
This herb has antimicrobial and antifungal effects due to its content of thymol (assists in the coughing up of phlegm) and carvacol (an effective inhibitor of Candida Albicians growth).

Preparation and usage:
Brew one to two tablespoons of fresh oregano leaves in boiling water and allow it to steep for about ten minutes. Drink this tea three times a day to alleviate digestive ailments and cough.
Oregano oil made with at least 50% dilution can be used topically twice a day to fight fungal infections such as athlete's foot.
