Boron

What is it? (physiology and clinical effects)
Boron is a mineral needed in trace amounts for maintenance of healthy bones, muscle growth and proper joint function. It is involved in the production of natural steroid hormones in the body, and in the metabolism of calcium, potassium, magnesium, and vitamin D.

Clinically relevant conditions:
  1. Osteoporosis
  2. Osteoarthritis
  3. Fractured bone
  4. Rheumatoid arthritis
Food Sources:
Fruits, vegetables, nuts

Deficiency not common, although elderly may benefit from supplementation
